It boasts a boiling point of -33.5ºC and can also be solidified into a snow-like crystalline form at a melting point of -77.75ºC. Remarkably soluble in water, ethanol, and ether, ammonia decomposes into nitrogen and hydrogen when subjected to high heat and exhibits a distinct reducing effect. In the presence of a catalyst, it can be oxidized to form nitric oxide. This versatile compound is integral in the production of liquid nitrogen, ammonia water, nitric acid, ammonium salts, amines, and more.
